I saw an Instagram story of a lady I follow that really made me angry – just not at her. She has a huge following. She is interesting, funny, successful and really cares about her followers (I hate that word but can’t think of another description right now). Anyhoo… (yes I spelled that the way I wanted – HA!), she was saying that a woman was shaming her for drinking coffee in her bathrobe at 10 in the morning “complaining” about the list she had to go through for a big event she is planning. I loved her response – “me and my husband worked hard for where we are”! PREACH!! I got so fired up when I saw this Instagram story!
Why, why, why do some women think it is ok to shame other women for their lifestyle or choices? I think the true answer is that they are insecure and not happy with their own lives. I mean come on ladies – we should be lifting each other up!! It seems so simple, but we continue to have to have these conversations. I will be completely honest…I watch the lady’s stories I mentioned above and I sometimes am a little envious. I am! Her home is what I would really enjoy. She lives in a fun city. She seems to be having a great time in life. And she is freaking younger than me! HA!! BUT…I choose to enjoy them and think of ways to enhance my life to get whatever it is I want…not condemn her for her beautiful life. I mean…good for her! Good for any of us who have a home, family, friends and enjoy life!!
My goal is to impact women’s lives for the good. So…can you all come along with me in joining a movement of women cheering on other women? As your momma probably told you…if you can’t say anything nice…you know the rest!
I am going to choose to live the ‘WEAR THE PERFUME!” mindset in my life. As a reminder, “WEAR THE PERFUME!” means live life now!! Live life lavishly! You know…wear that expensive perfume even if you are just staying home. Don’t wait to enjoy life! I also think we can apply that mindset to giving compliments when we think of them. Encourage one another, celebrate one another’s successes, learn from each other!! Attitude can change you – either direction! How about we have an attitude of encouragement and appreciating women! We have a lot to learn from each other – as well as a lot to celebrate

Love this!! For too long our gender is know. To be catty! Can’t we just be kind and not tear each out her up? Oh by the way, it takes a lot of energy to do that!! I am saving mine for living not tearing down!
